About Us

Who We Are

Tacoma Psychedelic Society (TPS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to psychedelic education, community connection, and integration support in Tacoma and beyond.

We create safe, inclusive spaces for learning, sharing, and exploring how entheogens and psychedelic practices can support healing, insight, and personal growth. Our work is rooted in education, harm reduction, advocacy, and community care.

We believe meaningful reform begins with informed communities.

Our Vision
We envision a future where public health is prioritized over criminalization, where individuals have sovereignty over their own consciousness, and where psychedelic education is accessible, responsible, and grounded in care.

Our vision is centered on community empowerment, evidence-based policy, and informed access — not commercialization. We believe in fostering environments where healing is supported through education, connection, and thoughtful reform.

Tacoma has already taken an important step forward through Resolution 41609, which deprioritized entheogenic practices for personal use within city limits. TPS continues to advocate for responsible, public health-centered policy that supports mental health, education, and community well-being.
Our Mission
Our mission is guided by four foundational pillars.
Education & Harm Reduction
We provide evidence-informed education on psychedelic safety, preparation, integration, and responsible decision-making. We emphasize harm reduction, set and setting awareness, and informed personal readiness. Our approach prioritizes education over stigma and care over criminalization.

Peer Support & Integration
TPS hosts free monthly Integration Circles and community gatherings that provide space for reflection, processing experiences, and shared learning. Our circles are grounded in consent, compassion, confidentiality, and non-judgment.

Community Engagement
We cultivate meaningful relationships through events, affinity groups, book club discussions, and volunteer opportunities. TPS is a community — not just an organization — and we believe connection is essential to collective growth.

Cognitive Liberty & Informed Access
We support the principle of cognitive liberty — the right to autonomy over one’s own consciousness. TPS advocates for policies that prioritize public health, personal responsibility, education, and evidence-based reform.
Our Values
Equity of Access
We believe everyone deserves fair access to accurate information, education, and opportunities for healing. We work to reduce stigma and remove barriers that prevent individuals from accessing responsible, evidence-based resources.

Cognitive Liberty
We affirm the right of individuals to sovereignty over their own mental processes and experiences. Personal autonomy and informed decision-making are foundational to our work.

Stewardship
We promote responsible use, environmental respect, and intergenerational accountability. Stewardship means caring for ourselves, our community, and the ecosystems that sustain us.

Human Interconnection
Healing and growth happen in community. We value empathy, shared learning, and authentic connection as essential components of collective well-being.
Community Programs

TPS hosts a range of community-centered offerings, including:

Free Monthly Integration Circles that provide structured, supportive spaces for processing experiences and reflection.

A Monthly Psychedelic Book Club focused on expanding knowledge, critical thinking, and shared discussion.

Affinity Groups that support connection among specific communities, including Veterans, BIPOC Integration Circle, Provider Network, Advocacy groups, and others.

Educational programming centered on harm reduction, responsible use, and evidence-informed policy.

All TPS spaces are designed to be respectful, inclusive, and grounded in care.

Advocacy & Policy

TPS actively supports local efforts to deprioritize entheogens in Tacoma. In January 2025, Tacoma City Council unanimously passed Resolution 41609, making entheogen-related activities among the city’s lowest law enforcement priorities.

We continue to advocate for public health-centered approaches, mental health reform, evidence-based policy, and expanded community education that strengthens informed decision-making and reduces stigma.
